DROWNED YOUTH AT ROCKFEST 2008 - AUSTRALIA

Drowned Youth was formed back in 1998 by Bernie and Chaz, who've been friends since high school. As a duo, we played around Hartford-Newington-New Britain area, with local acts, who like us simply just wanted to play music somewhere besides the garage.Due to the loss of our last bass player and personal dealings, we haven't been playing out nor recording these past couple years. Earlier this year we found out my boy Anjre had picked up a bass, so we kind of recruited him. We're glad to be back with new demos and material that'll turn in to a great record and our new true bass player 'Suicide'. ('It's about time this dude picked up a bass!!!') The first album 'Cookie was recorded in 99'-00' which started getting us gigs at the old Equator in Manchester, Sully's, YMCA events and a TV appearance on CPTV in 2001 which was replayed numerous times. 'Cookie' was followed up with 'Evolution E.P.' in 2002. In 2001 we put together a local Hallows Eve festival known as Death Fest which had a few good runs and big turnouts. There is talk about planning another Death Fest for this year, but we'll see what happens.

A few bands we've played with:Down in the Filth; Mad Hat; Mad circle; Black Fire; Sugarfist; Little Hands; L.A. Guns, with Reptillicus; Traci Guns, headlinging second stage; 40 below summer; Flu; Superkid; Strycnine; Caylix in Ruin; When words become weapons; Bella Morte; Deadstar Assembly; Displaced; No Ledge; Roswell and many more...

As with any other band we're looking to play more shows and expand our audience beyond Connecticut to surrounding states, playing with other locals, make connections...network, and make new friends and fans along the way, because really, without poeople to listen, and enjoy, a band is nothing but a couple of guys who make a lot of noise

Our sound is influenced by a lot of earlier music; between the three of us we are an eclectic bunch, delving into everything from Alice in Chains, to The Beatles, to Roni Size, Hole, Nirvana, KMFDM, Velvet Acid Christ, and Bob Marley and The Wailers. We try to make someting for everyone, or maybe just for one person...who knows. The point is, we try not to classify ourselves as one thing, because labels are loose.

AC/DC wrote 'Its a long way to the top if you want to rock and roll'. Check out one of our shows sometime...judge for yourselves how far we have to go...

ECHOED SILENCE AT ROCKFEST 2008 - AUSTRALIA

Echoed Silence is North Queenslands hardest working Hard Rock /Metal Band.Coming together from the Tablelands and Cairns district forming a unit of musicians passionate about their music.The ground work was laid in 2003 by Drummer Jethro Andrews, this paved the way for what was to be Echoed Silence that started its journey in 2005.After several line up changes the band is building a large fan base both here in Queensland and also in the US as their music is being aired by several radio staions there accross the net.

Currently the band, consisting of Wes (Guitar), Jason (Bass Guitar) Jethro (Drums) and Juz (Guitar) have developed a strong local following which has steadily grown with the release of their first demo CD titled, "Bittersweet No More" and single "Patient", that reached number 14 on the Triple J Unearthed charts.Echoed Silence live performances produce an energy amongst the crowd leaving them breathless but wanting more of the Silence. Making a name for themselves by retaining a high energy throughout the performance. Echoed Silence is not a band to be taken lightly. The versatile sounds they achieve makes it difficult to label the band within any one genre and the band uses this to their advantage by appealing to a larger audience.

Echoed Silence has thus far recorded their song, "Patient" with David Lynch of Diamond Recordings and a 6 track live demo CD titled "Bittersweet No More" and keep busy writing, recording and playing shows in the Tablelands, Cairns and Townsville Region. Echoed Silence have played alongside some of Austrialia's premier bands such as The Screaming Jets, The Angels, 28 Days and Japunga, played various festivals such as Cairns Backdrop Festival and Bombay Rock's Soundayze Festival and in early 2007 completed a tour of North Queensland with Brisbane outfit Edge of Earth.

Wes Offner on Guitar and vocals is influenced by many of the great blues based rock bands and artists as well as metal of the 80's and 90's.His solos are blues based but he is very metal and highly improvised.Jason Byrne is a trained classical guitarist and plays bass for E.S.His stage performances are powerful executing some amazing jumpsJuz Cook came to Echoed Silence in April of 2007Bringing with him a style of guitar playing in the vein of modern metal and hard core.Jethro Andrews is an amazing drummer with his ever progressing style and improvational skillsHis style of double kick incorporates various styles and he is the beatcrafter of Echoed Silence.
