Listing and Descriptions of the Completed Full and
Copyright 1987 Todd West
This LP has deep metaphysical overtones and reflected a growing interest of mine in world cultures. I had decided to quit college because it took too much time away from writing music. Many hours were spent writing for this LP and some demo recordings can still be found scattered about. My guitar playing was reaching new levels.

SILENT MUTATIONS 2/87
I completed this LP which was originally meant to be a soundtrack for a screenplay, and somewhere I still have the rough drafts of it. The day after I completed the music for this I went to work at Warner/Elektra/Atlantic in Atlanta. I then began piecing outakes from past sessions with new recordings and making them into comglomerate full releases to present to the contacts I made through work. Silent was very atmospheric, but had a few punk songs in here somewhere to really screw things up.
I have no Fear
I used this as a demo to send out to the label contacts I was making at WEA and at other labels whom I'd sent stuff before. Most said it was too raw, and since the "alternative" movement had really only begun, with most indies putting out vinyl and some CD's, it's understandable no major was interested, but then too it shows a bad lack of insight. This album in cassette form was reworked and in 1989 re-released as Equinox.....
Rock N Roll Rocket
Note: Some of the material was re-mastered for the Equinox release, and some numbers omitted or replaced......
WICCAN PRIEST 7/87
This Album began what I consider my modern "ambient" phase, which has developed and improved to become what it is today. Very psychedelic, with alot of stack tracks and dark sounding stuff. Even though the recording is very experimental and uneven, I rank Wiccan Priest as a true gem.
All You Desire
At the same time I tracked Wiccan Priest I laid the tracks for polyphony, which was supposed to be an excursion into the theory of polyphony, the recordings more or less experimental ambient jams. That's not how it turned out and it's nothing like what you would expect.
Sound Caress is the gentler side of Wiccan Priest and Polyphony...It's very ambient with alot of guitar sound effects. This EP is stack track hell.
Speed metal was at it's peak when I hooked up with some teenagers and began singing for Wrong Crowd in late July of '87. We did very well as a local live act and cut this recording in my bedroom over a couple of week's time in late September. The band situation was very volatile, with outside factors influencing too much...but man did I have a blast singing and writing for this band. The recording maintained its presence very well, five years later we were nominated for Atlanta'a most popular metal band, and we had been broken up for almost 4 years....go figure!!!
These are the complete recordings to accompany the soundtrack to the motion picture script I had written a few years before about the gravitational pull of the moon destroying the earth. I had originally peformed Opus 1 at recital (recorded for Theoria album above) when I was still in college. I got a B and was the only one who wrote their own recital that day. As a complete packge, it is dark and ambient. Beyond experimental!!
I finished out the year by completing the writing and recording of the Subculture album. It was meant to be a psychedelic jazz kinda thing, but as usual it went way over the line experimental wise. I didn't release the recordings until mid-'88, but had finished most of the recordings by the end of 1987. Philbro did the artwork, which displayed a punk spray-painting an anarchist symbol on a wall, I guess you could say it was punk for hippies!!
