UTOPIAN JESTURES 1/82

Continuing in feedback land, I write my first real symphonic piece. Everysong is connected with a theme on medieval fantasy.

Product of a Mad Guitarist
Wormwood
Land of Infantile Purpose
The Evil Magician
Keeper of the Truce
Zombie
Maniac's Lunacy/ The Storyteller

COLOSSUS IMPERITIVE 4/82

Songs begin to get shorter again with more riff-orientated stuff. Some blues influence here. Phaser and feedback galore. I was listening to tons of Robin Trower around this time.

Contents:

Captured in the Dark
Morning Glory
Ape and Grizzley
Rockin' Tonight
Rocker Anthem
Mystic Meanings
City of Amps
The Overdose
Road Roll On
Personal Play Toy
Georgia Jam
Move On / Praise Rock N Roll

WELCOME TO HELL 5/82

Big religious concept album here (yeah right). The jams that produced this one included some close friends whom I was teaching to play other instruments. Most songs are really grindcore industrial, lengthy and heavy. I was using multi-layer delay holding patterns and distorted feedback on the vocals. I wanted to record this project but at this time the material began to pour out in droves, and without any recording apparatus I just continued to write and play.

Contents:

Vision One: The Introdustion to Sorrow
Journey To Hell
Illusion of Water (Instrumental)
Vision Two: Temptation
Tales of Sin
The Girl That Never Was
Vision Three: The Good Book Of Wrong

I'm Alone
Last Chance
Vision Four: Truth, or Disillusion
Lucifer's Castle

CIRCUMVENT GAMES 6/82

Street-punk mode. First lineup of the Theoria band practiced in my bedroom at my parents house, then began throwing high school keg parties to jam at. All the kinds of music I had began experimenting with over the past 3 years began to show-up in varied qualities throughout the material of this era. I took as many tapes as I could with me when I went to Europe, visiting Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.

Contents:

Revenge of The Matrix
1986 Mentat
Rules
Feel the Fire
Crimson Delight
Black Star
Heat of The Night
Need You Tonight
The Lovers Drug

RIVET HEAD MADNESS 7-9/82

Riff orientated LP. I had a 64 SG (les paul JR I bought for $90 and rebuilt) at this time and loved to let it rip. I was getting bigger amps by now and the neighbors could feel the blast. For some reason most the lyrics and vocals on this album remind me of Bon Scott!

Contents:

Goin' Down
Stoney Loves to Rock
The Stripper
Cesarean Death
Compound Unknown
Your Place or Mine
Headbanger
Lightning Strikes Twice
Freebleeder
Leather Lady n Chains
Old Rockers Never Die

WHATEVER BECAME OF THE HEROES 10/82

I pieced this one together from incompleted tunes from the past four or five albums. My high-school buddies were liking my stuff as opposed to the heavy corporate rock scene beginning to emerge. Lots of people were saying acid punk was dead, so titles began to be irrelevant. I had been managing young local bands and peddaling their tapes for the past couple of months, I was calling my label Underground Records, strickly non-profit.

Contents:

Today's Heroes
Hood With Class
Rock N Roll Addict
Innocent Age
Powerdriver
High Livin'
Queen of The Sea
Social Overdrive
Lost Identity

ONE BATTLE WON, ANOTHER BEGUN 11/82

What I remember most about writing this album is driving into Atlanta and hanging out at the clubs. We had a good underground scene around here at this time, college radio and the clubs were saving us from the big-hair scourge of the mainstream. Pretty punkish, this long winded jewel was.

Contents:

Psychedelic Blues
Action Lady
Lung Ripper
Nothing
HLDDMR
Non Believer's Destiny
Man Vs. Himself
Winds of Change

THE DEATH OF SADNESS 7-11/82

Right after finishing One Battle... I completed this batch of songs. This one's heavy metal all the way with trimmings. Leather and biker music was dying a slow death, yet in my age group the fasination was still mystic, so with my anarchist attitude I put a spike in this one and pleased my local audience.

Contents:

Slaplash
Little Heathern
Era of Treachery
B. Under Population
Riddles Don't Rhyme
Heavy Metal Rock N Roll
Sword of Fire
A. Rise of Treason
Trouble in the Numbers

SPEEDREAMER 10-12/82

I was trading alot with alternative music lovers throughout the US and alot of fanzines and new tapes I was getting contained the offsprings Speedmetal and Hardcore Punk. We had a brand new really cool club here in Atlanta called The Metroplex (around this time or sometime hereafter) that catered to this stuff. It became my favorite place to play and hang. First line-up of my group Equinox was unleashed. This was our first batch of songs, I sent demo albums out to every fanzine I could find out about in the world.

Contents:

Images on My Eyes
Evolution
Leather Queen
Chained Love Lorn
Strangers in the Night
Simple Song Lingers Long
Texture of Tantrum
Speedreamer
The Imploring Agenda
Painless Death
Soldier of Time

SLAYER OF MORTALITY 11/82

As 1982 came to a close I was into alot of heavy stuff. This album was around the time everybody quit trying to put a label on my stuff. If you wanted, you could call this industrial metal, but whatever you called it it was in your face and loud.

Contents:

Transvestite
Mind Games
Grip of Fear
Infinite Zero
Sparrow's Song
Dead Heart
Angie
Iron Cement
Can't Kill Rock N Roll
Beast Wthin
