Continuing in feedback land, I write my first real symphonic piece. Everysong is connected with a theme on medieval fantasy.

WELCOME TO
HELL 5/82
Big religious concept album here (yeah right). The jams that produced this one included some close friends whom I was teaching to play other instruments. Most songs are really grindcore industrial, lengthy and heavy. I was using multi-layer delay holding patterns and distorted feedback on the vocals. I wanted to record this project but at this time the material began to pour out in droves, and without any recording apparatus I just continued to write and play.

CIRCUMVENT GAMES 6/82
Street-punk mode. First lineup of the Theoria band practiced in my bedroom at my parents house, then began throwing high school keg parties to jam at. All the kinds of music I had began experimenting with over the past 3 years began to show-up in varied qualities throughout the material of this era. I took as many tapes as I could with me when I went to Europe, visiting Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.

MADNESS 7-9/82
Riff orientated LP. I had a 64 SG (les paul JR I bought
for $90 and rebuilt) at this time and loved to let it rip.
I was getting bigger amps by now and the neighbors could
feel the blast. For some reason most the lyrics and vocals
on this album remind me of Bon Scott!

I pieced this one together from incompleted tunes from
the past four or five albums. My high-school buddies were
liking my stuff as opposed to the heavy corporate rock
scene beginning to emerge. Lots of people were saying acid
punk was dead, so titles began to be irrelevant.
I had been managing young local bands and peddaling their
tapes for the past couple of months, I was calling my label
Underground Records, strickly non-profit.

What I remember most about writing this album is driving
into Atlanta and hanging out at the clubs. We had a good
underground scene around here at this time, college radio
and the clubs were saving us from the big-hair scourge of
the mainstream. Pretty punkish, this long winded jewel
was.

Psychedelic Blues
Right after finishing One Battle... I completed this
batch of songs. This one's heavy metal all the way with
trimmings. Leather and biker music was dying a slow
death, yet in my age group the fasination was still
mystic, so with my anarchist attitude I put a spike in
this one and pleased my local audience.

I was trading alot with alternative music lovers
throughout the US and alot of fanzines and new tapes I was
getting contained the offsprings Speedmetal and Hardcore
Punk. We had a brand new really cool club here in
Atlanta called The Metroplex (around this time or
sometime hereafter) that catered to this stuff. It became
my favorite place to play and hang. First line-up of my
group Equinox was unleashed. This was our first batch of
songs, I sent demo albums out to every fanzine I could find
out about in the world.

As 1982 came to a close I was into alot of heavy stuff.
This album was around the time everybody quit trying to
put a label on my stuff. If you wanted, you could call
this industrial metal, but whatever you called it it was
in your face and loud.
